United Nations Office of Partnerships SSS is developing an initiative with the UN Office of Partnerships to engage Africa. The program is designed to foster and facilitate trade ties, creative collaborations, and capacity building partnerships between the global business community and artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs in Africa.

In 2009, SSS will support the Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the world’s waves and beaches, and Reef Check, an international nonprofit focused on preserving and rehabilitating coral and rocky reefs worldwide.

World Repair Kit World Repair Kids unleashes the superhero in every child — the protectors, the fixers, the champions of good. Lily Kantor, Serena & Lily Co-Founder and CEO, created the World Repair Kit to spark a movement that fuels a bold generation of young “can-doers.” The Kit is designed to seed a kid’s imagination with facts, sprinkle on a little inspiration, and illustrate tools that work. As everyone has a role in fostering youth action for World Repair, SSS is developing partnership strategies and community activation plans to support the launch and growth of the World Repair Kids Movement. GIVERESPECT! GIVE RESPECT! is a social action campaign that promotes respect in relationships and increases awareness about the positive role everyone can play to help stop relationship violence and abuse. It starts with something everyone can do: Give Respect to others. SSS is working with the Family Violence Prevention Fund to extend the RESPECT! Campaign through its national founding partner Macy’s and beyond with new consumer-facing collaborations and outreach. Find out what RESPECT! means to you.
GirlUp SSS is supporting Girl Up, a campaign of the United Nations Foundation, which gives American girls the opportunity to channel their energy and compassion to raise awareness and funds that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls. Girl Up helps girls help each other to become educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be the next generation of leaders. Activation tools, grassroots events, and brand collaborations will help encourage Girl Up activists to give a “High Five” to girls in developing countries by donating $5 to provide girls with such basic needs as access to school supplies, clean water, life-saving health services, and safety from violence.
imgres2 Reap What You Sew Reap What You Sew, a project of artist Nicole Mackinlay Hahn, illustrates a more conscious connection between consumers and those who make our food, shelter, and clothing. SSS created a manifesto and statement of ethical purpose to frame RWYS engagement with producers and brands, providing the language to articulate Mackinlay Hahn’s vision of capturing the “poetry behind the purchase.” A perfect example is MIRROR/AFRICA, which pioneered the use of RFID tags in an interactive film installation, unveiled at Barneys NY and exhibited at the New Museum NY.

Using human-centered design and a novel partnership approach, Potential Energy creates an ecosystem of innovation that bridges world-class science and local knowledge to pilot, scale, and sustain simple solutions with catalytic impact. SSS stepped in to draft the copy for their site relaunch and name change from Darfur Stove Project to Potential Energy, in addition to conceiving and crafting additional communications and marketing materials.
imgres3 United Nations Foundation United Nations Foundation SSS is an ongoing partner of the United Nations Foundation in helping build public-private partnerships to address the world’s most pressing problems — from energy access to disease eradication. By spreading the word about innovative campaigns like Nothing But Nets and Shot@Life through strategic partnerships and public outreach, and organizing events, such as a retreat for UN Human Rights Council Ambassadors on the human rights dimensions of internet freedom, SSS is furthering the impact of UN Foundation’s key programs and initiatives. SSS’s Tamsin Smith frequently represents UNF at public events and acts as the organization’s local representative in the Western United States.

HUUUG-LOGO-1-S Huuug SSS worked with founder Leigh Cadena to conceive and launch a global campaign to lift kids up by uniting resources and unleashing tools that create happier ever afters. Huuug brings individuals and existing youth-serving charities together through immersive trips, corporate collaborations, retail pop-up stores, and novel fundraising events. Rather than reinvent the wheel or start a new non-profit, SSS helped Huuug build a sustainable platform to accelerate and maximize impact for all. This entailed full creative visioning and execution from brand identity and mission articulation to design of a global movement.
